New Research Article Published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences
We are proud to announce the publication of a new research article, “Forensic analysis of dominant versus non-dominant handwriting: Statistical and machine learning insights,” in the internationally renowned Journal of Forensic Sciences.
PHOTO: Wiley Online LibraryThe article is the result of a scientific collaboration between the Forensic Science Centre “Ivan Vučetić” and the Faculty of Forensic Sciences at the University of Split, bringing together experts and researchers from both institutions in conducting the study and preparing the publication.
The study examines differences between handwriting produced with the dominant and non-dominant hand from a forensic handwriting examination perspective. Using statistical and machine learning methods, the authors analysed handwriting features to gain a better understanding of their discriminatory potential and explore how these findings could contribute to forensic practice.
This publication represents another valuable outcome of the close connection between forensic practice and academia, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the application of modern statistical approaches in advancing forensic science.
