Quality policy
Forensic Science Centre Ivan Vučetić operates as part of the Ministry of the Interior, with the primary task of transforming material traces collected at the crime scene into legally valid evidence. Recognizing the importance of this evidence for criminal proceedings and the high expectations of the end users, the State Attorney's Office of the Republic of Croatia, the police, courts and international partners, the Centre is focused on maintaining and further developing a high level of expertise and quality in the field of forensics.
In order to achieve and maintain these goals, a quality management system has been developed based on the principles of accuracy, reliability, repeatability, safety, precision and timeliness. The minimum standard accepted by the Center in this context is compliance with the HRN EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which ensures the quality of all testing and expertise. Accordingly, the Center procures only those resources, services and equipment that meet the requirements of the aforementioned standard.
The content of end users is an important indicator of the Center's success. Through consultation, questionnaire analysis and a structured approach to user complaints, the needs and expectations of all parties are continuously monitored. Clearly defined procedures for receiving and interpreting orders for expertise additionally contribute
reducing misunderstandings and increasing the transparency of the services provided.
The Center pays special attention to the Data Protection Act, both those resulting from investigations and those submitted by service users. This principle is firmly established in legal regulations, especially in the Criminal Procedure Act, which defines the role of experts and the obligations of civil servants in the state administration. The same regulations also stipulate the obligation to avoid all activities that could call into question the impartiality and professionalism of the Center.
As an independent department of the Ministry of the Interior, the Center is aware of its responsibility in environmental protection and preservation of the working environment. The environmental policy is an integral part of our work processes and it is implemented in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, with constant care for pollution prevention.
Deviations from the Quality Policy and goals are resolved by the Center through a system of preventive and corrective actions, which form the basis for continuous improvement of work. Part of this process is also the regular assessment by the Management, which Quality comes from the daily work of all employees of the Center. Therefore, continuous education, strengthening employee motivation and open communication with service users are fundamental components of our activities. In this way, we ensure the achievement of goals and their implementation in practice.
